Thanks to recycling campaign of school supplies carried out by students from the IEEE students branch in Quito, boys and girls from the Cecilia Rivadeneira Foundation and the community of Simiatug received 500 kits of supplies for the next school year.

This project was coordinated by Edison Agreda, student of electrical engineering and president IEEE. The aim was to help children from vulnerable sectors; everyone in the university was asked to donate school supplies which were no longer being used.

Agreda said "this process began in the "Sur" campus and then other campuses in the university community joined in". Father Jorge Molina said "This is a very generous act done by UPS students.

Steven Rios, student and member of IEEE, said "We leave our comfort zone aside and set out to help people without expecting nothing in return. The smile on children's faces is our reward".
