Students, professors and administrative staff in our branch campus in Cuenca celebrated mass a part of the preparatory celebration of the university's 25th anniversary. Mass was presided by Father Javier Herran, Father Juan Cardenas, Father Bolivar Jaramillo and Father Felipe Mayordomo in the university coliseum.

The university is organizing several cultural, scientific and sports activities that will take place until August 4th, 2019.

In his talk, Father Javier Herran said "I encourage you to reread the gospel of Jesus, you, professors and students, are what make this country special, but if you lose your identity, if you are a professor like everyone else, if you are just another student of the thousands that this country has, you are not identified with this Salesian university because here you can not lose your identity. You are the light of the world, professors and students are the ones who have to make a new form of science, and that new form of science must always be clear. That is why we ask the Lord as his disciples, to give us the wisdom needed to free us from corruption, in order to be those men and women who are knowledgeable about the profession, science and, above all, knowers of the human being. To believe in God, which is love, is to feel the need that we should love each person who suffers. This is our university, in these 25 years the challenge is to be wise and that the Lord help us be the light and the identity that our society needs."
