The university presented its new digital magazine: Juventud y Ciencia Solidaria during an event held in Unidad Educativa Tecnico Salesiano (UETS for its acronym in Spanish).  The magazine is an project promoted by the UNESCO chairs "Assistive technologies for inclusive education", the Artificial Intelligence and Assistive Technogies Research Group and UETS. The aim is to encourage science and communication in high school students by publishing their projects in the magazine.

The event was attended by officials from the university, the high school and the salesian community; Father Fransisco Sanchez, chancellor of the university; Father Juan Cardenas Tapia director of the salesian community of Yanuncay; Fernando Pesantez, director of UNESCO chairs; Luis Alvarez, general editor of the university; Omar Alvarez, principal of UETS and Santiago Pinos, vice principal. 

Father Juan Cardenas congratulated the people in charge of this project which will allow high school students to emerge in the world of research. "This will greatly benefit their university education and future profession"; he said. 

During the event the young authors of the first article received a special recognition. 

Leonardo Carrión, on behalf of the authors of the maganize, thanked officials for the opportunity of being part of this project and motivated students to write about their activities and contribute to the development of a better society. 

Paola Ingavelez, editor of the magazine, congratulated students for the magazine and said the first edition is already available in university's UNESCO chairs website:
