The 8th IUS Conference came to an end on September 20th, the representatives of several institutions signed endorsements related to five sectors of salesian institutions of higher education (IUS): training, pastoral, quality education, research and academic networks.

Mario Olmos, coordinator of the IUS in America, was thankful with all the representatives who attended. "Networks have been created for institutions to work together", he said.
Marcelo Farfan, general coordinator of the IUS, spoke about the methodology for a common program of IUS in America, the creation of academic networks that demonstrate the growth of institutions and the opportunity of joint work in order to obtain a higher impact.

He stressed the importance of reflecting on and rethinking two essential issues: educational models and the poor linked to the economic sustainability of IUS. Similarly, he said that some challenges are to have methodologies to systematize the work and avoid dispersion. "We need fluid communication, an articulation of the academic production of networks and the strengthening of management in continental support."

Finally, he thanked the participants, the coordinators of IUS America, presidents and senior managers of the institutions, especially UPS, venue of the conference and the inspectors of Colombia, Bolivia, Chile, and Ecuador for their Professional ability to make the event possible. "Thank you for your exceptional work and accompaniment," he said.
