Esteban Ordoñez, telecommunications professor in our branch campus in Cuenca, presented his research titled "Computing in vehicular clouds to support services and applications in the field of intelligent transport systems"

Professor Ordoñez explained that current technological development in the field of telecommunications and computer devices that are being implemented in vehicles, allows the creation of vehicular communication networks.

These networks are key to support services and applications in the field of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) which seek to provide safety roads, efficient management of traffic and infotainment. 

Governments worldwide are seeking to implement the concept of ITS to lessen the problems of traffic jams and accidents which cause economic losses and deaths. 

Finally, Ordoñez stated that when this project is put into operation it will be a great contribution to better organize transportation and thus try to lower the congestion and traffic accident rate.
