The basic and early education undergraduate programs in our branch campus in Guayaquil held a webinar titled "Education focused students and the use of ICTs", which will be led by Teresa Diaz, professor – researcher at the Centro de Estudios de Ciencias de la Educación Superior (CECES) de la Universidad de Pinar del Rio (Cuba).

The aim is that participants are aware of the use of new technologies in teaching learning processes. "In this current context, things will not be the same and for education this means it is important to combine different tools that will benefit students", said Teresa Diaz. 

She stressed the importance of combining ICTs with teaching approaches that focus on students. She also asked teachers to strengthen their digital competencies to improve teaching processes. 

Maria Isabel Calderon, student majoring in early education, said: "Learning about ICTs allows us to apply additional resources in the classroom. These webinars encourage our job as future teachers". 

To conclude, Teresa Diaz emphasized it is important to keep using ICTs, not only now due to the current context but because of the characteristics of the current and future generations.
