"A critical look at the future of the media: Ecuadorian Television"

On June 17th, the university's social communication major held the talk titled "A critical look at the future of the media: Ecuadorian Television". Several journalists and communicators from national TV attended the talk.

 The speakers were: Diana León, news presenter at Teleamazonas; Maria Cecilia Moreno, chief editor of Diario el Telégrafo; Catrina Tala, producer of "En Contacto" and presenter of "Panorama Internacional" at Ecuavisa; Jose Toledo, journalist and international documentalist; Coraima Torres Bermudez, social communication student. The moderator was Bismarck Arana. 

The speakers analyzed and discussed the contents of Ecuadorian TV programs, their role in society and their impact on the community since the appearance of new means of communication. 

Katiuska Flores, director of the social communication faculty, said the aim of the event is to learn people's opinions on current issues regarding means of communication.
"We think it is very important to have these type of talks with students and professionals, who play an important part in the education of future professionals" said Flores.
