On October 23rd UPS –Guayaquil inaugurated the "2015 Telecommunications Conference" which is organized by the electronic engineering major, the telecommunications club and the electrical and electronic engineering institute at UPS. 

The aim of the event was to bring the university community together, especially those related to telecommunications and update students' and professors' knowledge by listening to professionals and experts in this field. Around 200 people attended the event; there were professors in the field of ICTs and telecommunications, researchers, students and professors from UPS, Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) and Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil (UCSG)

There was also a talk given by Sonia Aissa, PhD, who is a member of IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc). She talked about her experience in the field of telecommunications. 
"This type of event encourages students to continue their professional education" said Carlos Bosques, professors of electronic engineering.
