Father Timothy Ploch, counselor for the Inter American Region, is in Ecuador as part of his visit to the country's Salesian homes to learn more about their work, share experiences and make suggestions.

The aim of his visit is to learn more about the salesian community in Ecuador and introduce himself to the community. He was named counselor for the Inter American Region during the Salesian Congregation held in Rome in March and April 2014.

His visit started in Quito in the "Sagrado Corazón de Jesus" Inspectorate, where he held a meeting  with Father Jorge Molina, inspector of salesians in Ecuador.

The role of the regional counselor is to create links between all the salesian works within his region with the Rector Major of the Salesians, Father Angel Fernandez Artime, so they work together in the decision making process along with the entire Salesian Congregation. Particularly, he is responsible for visiting all the salesian works in the continent, from Canada to Bolivia.

Father Timothy Ploch will arrive to Cuenca on September 11th, 2016 to meet with salesian communities in Maria Auxiliadora, Yanuncay, and UPS, where he will have a meeting with UPS president Father Javier Herran.
