UPS signed an agreement that will benefit people with visual impairment

The university's Information and Communication Technologies for Disabilities Research Group (TICAD for its acronym in Spanish) in Guayaquil and the National Federation of the Blind (FENCE for its acronym in Spanish) signed an agreement that will enable the execution of inclusion project in the university. 
 
The agreement will benefit students and people with visual impairment with training sessions on ICTs which will favor entrepreneurship and the inclusion of people in the work environment. The event was attended by Diana Banchon Mateo, president of FENCE; Alice Naranjo, coordinator of TICAD; Segundo Quezada and Renzo Verni, representatives of ASODIV Playas.
 
Here are some of the projects:
 
- ICTs for people with visual impairment
 
- Diagnosis of the employment situation of people with disabilities in the city of Guayaquil
 
- Development of prototypes to favor the inclusion of people with disabilities in education, work and society
 
- A system to monitor students with disabilities
 
These training sessions will held during the next three years and will with the next academic period. "These activities are important because an inclusive process for people with disabilities takes place every day", said Alice Naranjo, coordinator of TICAD.
