Last March, 20th the International Network of Ibero American Youth and social communication students from UPS-Guayaquil held a National Dialogue before the IV Young Americas Forum. About 40 young people from different cities attended this event which was supported YABT (The Young Americas Business Trust) and the Organization of American States.

Katiuska Flores, social communication director, led the opening ceremony and encouraged young people to be agents of change. Second year student Kevin Chalco talked about the history of Summits of the Americas alongside some audiovisuals.

The first part of the event ended with a panel discussion with public participation specialists such as: Steven Neira, General Coordinator of Asociación Internacional Frente Joven, Julia Jama, Researcher of economics, Cristhian Menéndez, lawyer specialized in economic law, and Andrés Elías, who holds a master's degree in political consultancy. The speakers encouraged participants to take action and improve the country.

During the second part of the event, there were debates that focused on three aspects: public participation, equal prosperity and migration. Nicolás Arízaga, Gabriela Ramírez and Jamil Pavón were in charge of presenting the conclusions at each one of the debates.

The closing speech was given by Coraima Torres who highlighted the importance of all the proposals that were presented at this event that will then be presented to presidents from the region.

The participants made a commitment to continue working to improve society: "to be agents of change, "we must go from protesting to presenting proposals and from the proposals to taking action"
