Dual training program on Mechanics and Industrial Electricity

UPS officials, representatives from the Chamber of Industries, Production and Employment in Cuenca, Induglob, Continental Tire Andina, the Chamber of Industries and the Ecuadorian-German Chamber of Commerce attended the opening ceremony of the Dual training program on Mechanics and Industrial Electricity in the University's Carlos Crespi Theater. 

UPS-Cuenca Vice President Cesar Vasquez presided the opening ceremony and welcomed the students who decided to take this dual program. He said UPS will provide everything needed for their learning, according to the demands of modern technology and businesses in Cuenca, in order to guarantee quality education. 

Andres Robalino, President of the Chamber of Industries, Production and Employment in Cuenca, said this program is aimed at providing young people the opportunity to strengthen their skills and face new challenges local businesses.

Cristian Zamora, who attended the program on behalf of Cuenca Mayor Marcelo Cabrera, said that the municipality of Cuenca is willing support initiatives created at UPS and local businesses. 

UPS President Javier Herran said it is important to have a Dual training program that will give students the right training for the workplace. Therefore, it is important to understand the reality of industrial production and its improvement, and to do so you need knowledge and action. 

Over 70 students are already going to class at Tecnico Salesiano High School; the Dual training program is an active learning approach based on the combination of academic teachings in the educational institution and the practical application of that knowledge in a company. Students are taught by professors with broad experience in the field and use top tech labs. 

Students who successfully comply with all the program and pass the final exams will get an approval certificate from UPS recognized by the Ecuadorian – German Chamber of Commerce.
